Teen Suspended For Going to Prom

I always try to make the argument that going to a Christian school is not a bad thing.  I went to a Catholic high school and it was a lot of fun.  However, I do realize that no matter how many rules a Catholic school tries to enforce, it is nothing compared to traditional Christian schools.

So 17 year old Tyler Frost was suspended from Heritage Christian School for attending his girlfriend's prom this past weekend.  WTF!?!  Its a PROM!!!  No big deal.  I have to mention that Heritage does not allow dancing, rock music, or hand-holding either.  I feel really bad for all of the girls that go to that school  What do they have to look forward to their senior year?  These are the people who go to college and either can't relate with ANYONE there or they end up losing themselves in all the madness and drop out after the first semester.  Do schools not realize the damage that they do to students when they block their ability to do things that "normal" teenagers do.  Do they forbid all of this stuff in hopes on promoting abstinence?  Well newsflash school officials, it is probably not working.  Forbidding such things would only encourage them to want to do it more.  It makes me wonder if the people who make these ridiculous rules were ever teenagers?
