Starving for Gravity Show Review

It is always great to see a band that can both play well and actually perform. Friday at Hogue Barmichael's Starving for Gravity did both.  They started the set strong with the song “Passing Years” that showed both the ability to rock as well as their range as a group.   This is not your fly by night pretty boy band.  All of these guys are artist in their own right.  Songs like “Take a Risk” and “Omaha” highlight the skills and talents of both Brad and Brett (the guitarist and bassist).  Richard’s keyboarding adds completeness to the band’s sound.  Songs like ”Passing Years”, “March” and “Urgency” shows that Lucas has the range and ability lacking in a lot of singers today.  No band is complete without a kick ass drummer, a task that Caleb happily and completely fulfills.

Starving for Gravity is a breath of fresh air from the generic music being played in the mainstream today.  Once you hear them you can’t help but become a fan, and once you see them live you’re hooked for life.  Check out their songs on www.myspace.com/starvingforgravity or you can see them live at LAMN Jam Rock Music Contest at Skinny’s Lounge in North Hollywood.
