We’ve tried, but we just can’t take it anymore!

I wanted to write this great review about the show I went to Friday (and it was a hell of a show), but I am very lazy right now.  I am not sure if it is the fact that I am winding down from a three day weekend with the family being in town or what.  However, I felt that something definitely needed to be said about the show.  IT KICKED SO MUCH ASS!!! 

Opus Dai opened the show at Silver Factory Studios (which is a really cool venue if you ever get a chance to check it out), with an immense amount of energy I have come to expect from them.  I love watching this band play small venues because it gives them a chance to interact with the crowd.  Both Tim and Murve (the singer and bassest), fed off the energy of the crowd, which only got everyone worked into a frenzy.  It was great!  It is great to hear them play songs off their current CD as well as music from the previous albums.  I have been a fan of Opus Dai for a long time and have only grown to like them more and more with each performance. 

It was Sleepingboy's CD release party and they were next to take the stage.  These guys are awesome!!!  It is always great to hear a trio sound as complete as any four person band.  Between the instrumentals and songs like Ms Graves, they proved that they are a band to take notice of.  It was a fantastic set!  I can see why they have the respect of their fellow peers.  On a side note... I've had a chance to check out their new CD and I love it.  It is a must own. 

Djinn was the last band to take the stage that night.  They played a great set (especially considering it was 2am when they finally came on).  They decided to bless the audience with a lot of new music, including a Terminator tribute (fitting since the movie came out this week).   These guys are a fun band to watch, and a great way to end the evening (however I would love to see them play an earlier set next time).  I can't wait to hear more of Djinn, and I am excited to see what they have in store for their fans in the near future (new CD perhaps).  

It was a great night at a great venue.  All of these bands have CDs out which should be picked up and play loudly!!!  If you have the opportunity to catch any of these bands live shell out the money and do it.  It will be the best night of music you have experienced in a while.
