Who is in the Movie

The other day I invited a family friend to go and see Preditors with me.  I knew that it wasn't his type of movie, but I figured what the hell.  Anyway, the movie was going to start in about an hour and I asked if he wanted to meet us there (since I was going with my family).  He started asking a billion questions about the movie which made me realize that he obviously didn't want to go (which I figured anyway).  However, the question that bugged me the most was "Who is in the movie"?  Well stupid me started naming all of the people who I could think of offhand who were in the movie.  Then I thought about it and said... "Who the hell cares! They're all going to die anyway."

No one watches a movie like Preditors for the acting. They watch it for the action.  Does it really matter who is in the movie? The only thing that matters is how they die.  When all is said and done you tend to pick a character and hope for the best (but expect their spine to be ripped out or something).  I still can't understand why anyone would ask such a ridiculous question.  No on has ever won an Oscar for their performance in a horror or mindless action movie.  At times I still can't figure out why they ever bother to hire any recognizable names to be in the movie, but whatever.

So the point is this.... Don't ask stupid questions about action movies because it makes you seem out of touch.  Action movies only really serve one purpose... to be filled with action (or else they would be called dramas).  People need to stop expecting action (and horror) movies to contain a sophisticated plot, great acting, and fantastic direction.  They are only really supposed to serve as a welcome distraction to everyday life.

Thank You.

By the way Preditors was actually a descent movie.
