Arizona Cardinal's New Ticket Plan Screws Everyone

The Arizona Cardinals have decided in order to keep their home court advantage; they are going to put conditions on purchasing tickets to their games.  So in order to get tickets to the Cardinals vs. Cowboys game you have to purchase tickets to the season opener on August 7 against New Orleans.  This is done to discourage Cowboys’ fans from purchasing tickets to the Cardinals game.  Now I see two problems with this situation 1) don’t you need the money from admissions to pay the salaries for these professional athletes?  Currently ticket sales are a little lower than anticipated (based off of last year's numbers).  2) They might limit the number of tickets sold but there will still be scalpers you can buy them from.

I think that the Cardinals are shooting themselves in the foot with this one.  Even if they were the number one team and could get away with it, doesn’t this act of selfishness hurt the local economy during football season (think of all the out of town business that wont be there).
